Author Philppe de Vosjoli has
well imagined his Roman setting and the imaginary creatures that exist in the worlds he has created in the first book of his trilogy,
The Legend of Atticus Rex—Iborra’s rich color illustrations add depth too, along with the detachable Atticus Rex Amulet that can be removed from the intriguing book cover.
This is a daring page-turner for readers that are feeling brave and ready for a dark adventure—especially boys ages 8 and up.

xcellent book for all ages
By Tamara B

We were very impressed first by the high quality of the book and the amulet, and second thrilled by the story,
beautiful art work, and creative world that we were transported into with this story. We read it all in one setting, it is a great page turner and we can't wait to read the next book. This story is not just for young adults, it is for people of all ages. Atticus Rex teaches us all lessons about loyalty, strength, and courage. Plus the amulet is very cool.

Fun and Original

I read this book to help out a Librarian friend who wants to add it to their Young Reader program and really enjoyed the story. It is fun and Inspirational! The colorful world the author creates is unique and refreshing for young readers. I'm in my 30's and loved the book, but I will also be sending my copy to my neice who I know will eat it up in a matter of days!

The story itself is adventure-filled and will entrance readers as young Gabriel faces both his own fears and the real dangers of his Roman Empire world. The giant war dog, Nero, is the key to the story, as Gabriel and his father face the all-too-real shadows of evil.

But the production of the book really is superb! The hard cover folds over with a magnetic snap, creating a journal feel. And embedded in the cover, with easy velcro access on the inside, is a detachable, embossed metal amulet with Nero's protective face, ready to comfort any young reader facing his own night (or other) shadows. A really perfect gift for young readers.
